Ways to Serve
There are several ways in which volunteer families can impact the lives of families in crisis.
Host Family
Provide a safe place for the child(ren) of parents experiencing crisis by temporarily hosting them in your home. By providing a safe place for children, you can allow parents to get back on their feet while also becoming part of a support system for isolated parents.
Family Coach
Family coaches serve a dual-role for host families & parents in crisis. First, Family Coaches visit host families while they have children in their home and work to answer questions and offer support and encouragement. Second, Family Coaches work to connect parents in crisis to different resources and family friends.
Family Friend
Become a trusted friend in a family’s life. Serve through direct contact which may include providing transportation, mentoring, helping with job searches or babysitting.
Resource Friend
Support parents in crisis or host families with the tangible goods. This could include donating car seats, meals, diapers, clothing, winter clothing or school supplies to name a few.
